Disposition types define when records are eligible for disposition. Disposition types include Time, Event, and Time-Event.

Time Disposition: Content items are eligible for disposition after the conclusion of the retention period (defined in months).

Example: 3 years (36 months) from the date the content item was scanned or imported into DocStar (Created Date)

Event Disposition: Content Items may be disposed of immediately following a specified event (cut-off). (There is no retention period.)

Example: Content items are disposed on “now”.

Time-Event Dispositions: A retention period begins after a specified event. The event may be an external event, which is manually indicated by a user.

Example: Student Records will be disposed of 7 years after the student has graduated.  The event (graduation) as occurred and the time now begins.
